Spotlight on Framed Showers

One of the first decisions you need to make when choosing your new shower is framed or frameless? Today we'll focus on the more traditional framed option and the benefits of choosing this as your shower set-up.

Framed showers can be custom made to fit into almost any bathroom design.  We have the choices in colors and materials to match your existing bathroom hardware.

The cost of installing a framed shower is significantly lower than a frameless shower. The glass is supported by the framing system which allows it to be thinner and less expensive.

Century Glass has a wide variety of framed shower designs and styles. You can stop by our showroom or look on our website for a sample of the choices available.

Once you've chosen your shower - don't forget to ask us about glass protection services to keep it looking brand new.

Safe Drive Away Time

Your windshield and side window glass are part of your vehicle’s passenger restraint system and must be installed properly in order for airbags to deploy safely and effectively. In order for an auto glass replacement to be completed properly, the adhesive used in that replacement must have the proper time to cure and create a bond between the glass and the car. This time is called proper drive-away time. It is the length of time the vehicle should remain stationary after any auto glass installation to allow proper bonding. It is important that your vehicle remain stationary until the proper drive-away time has expired.

Century Glass has chosen to use a one hour drive-away time product, to insure their customer’s safety and to get those customers back on the road quicker.

Century Glass offers a free mobile service for all auto glass repairs and replacements; they are an approved auto glass shop for all insurance companies and provide a Lifetime Installation Warranty.

Corrosion and Windshields

We don’t think of corrosion (sometimes called rust) as a condition that has any relationship to the windshield in your vehicle. Yet, when corrosion is found in the midst of an auto glass replacement, it must be corrected before that installation can be completed.

Corrosion near the windshield is often unseen until the glass in a vehicle is being replaced. The corrosion can jeopardize the ability of the adhesive used to create a bond between the car body and the glass. In fact, the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS) requires that any condition that jeopardizes the safety of the owner/operator be corrected before that installation can be completed.

Sometimes, minor corrosion can be corrected by the auto glass shop itself. In other cases, it may be necessary to consult other corrosion professionals.

Century Glass is a proud member of the Auto Glass Safety Council and we look forward to assisting you with your next auto glass repair or replacement.

Before You Choose - Look!

Whenever you need the glass in your car replaced, look for this logo.

It means that the auto glass company replacing the glass in your vehicle is registered with the Auto Glass Safety Council. The AGSC is the definitive authority on safe auto glass installation practices. Registered members are committed to the highest standard of quality and the strongest commitment to safety.

You may be surprised to learn that your vehicle’s windshield does much more than just protect you from weather and insects. Your windshield also acts as a safety shield for vehicle occupants in the event of a collision or rollover accident and works with the seats, seatbelts and airbags to protect you in a crash. When installed property, the windshield supports the roof of the vehicle in a rollover and allows the airbags to fully deploy. Auto glass is a critical safety component of your vehicle’s occupant crash protection system and great care must be taken to make sure it is replaced correctly.
